If you can’t evaluate and apply theory to an activity or product—no matter what it is—then you are kidding yourself that you really know anything about that subject. Peer reviewing is where your command of the principles and processes (the theory) behind writing will show up. It is the most important practice you can apply to writing skill improvement. In other words–you may get great feedback from peers in the peer review to help you with your revisions.
